Gee this is nice! A place all to myself where I can share my two cents without taking over the family blog (which is really just a blog to brag about my beautiful daughter). The funny thing is, I can't actually think of anything to post that isn't related to her or to motherhood in some way. But I like it that way. Becoming a mother has been the biggest blessing in my life and I wouldn't change it for the world. Seeing Rebekah open up her little arms and yell "mama!" makes me so happy and so thankful. During her nap yesterday I went through a bunch of little video clips that we have taken since Rebekah's birth, and I just marvelled at how she has grown and changed and how Dave and I have grown and changed too. As much as we have to teach our children, they certainly teach us lots too!
I guess I might as well share a little bit about myself. I am still under thirty (not for much longer though), have been married 9 years and have a lovely daughter Rebekah who is 15 months old. My husband is my high school sweetheart. I grew up in Northwestern Ontario, went to Bible College in Saskatchewan and now we are living in British Columbia as my husband trains for ministry in the Presbyterian Church. It is our desire to serve God wherever he wants us to go and we have both felt this call on our lives from a young age.
When I'm not taking care of the baby I enjoy reading, cross-stitch, scrapbooking and quilting. I love to read Christian biographies and historical novels. Right now I'm reading the autobiography of George Muller and then I can't wait to start in on Jane Austen's Sense and Sensibility.
Well its been nice to have time to sit down and post. But I think its time to take advantage of the fact that Rebekah went to bed early! Goodnight all!

Kathleen Martin here. I connected with you through Paula's blog. It is neat how you can catch up with old friends this way. Congratulations on your little girl. Vern and I are living in Alberta now and are expecting baby ##4 in spring.
Hey, this is in response to your response to my blog. Glad you are doing well and doing what you are doing. I only have a minute while grandchildren are sleeping...I usually nap too but something disturbed me! I'd like to keep in touch. Your comments as well as your life are a real encouragement! Hey Jessica, this is Sara Paterson (James)...just got this link from David and Erin's blog. Wow, you are way out here, if you ever are passing through Calgary perhaps we can meet up and see what's going on in our lives. You are still so young!! I'm 31 on april 13 and will be only married for 6 years...how'd you do that, oh yeah, the whole highschool sweetheart. I didn't meet mine till a tad later :)
Anyhow, great to see you (via internet...take what we can get) and will do my best to keep up on your blog. I haven't blogged forever due to my slow computer, but I will have to try again soon. Anyhow, its late so I should be going...again, very glad to come across your family!
Sara
